Have you ever wanted to just be yourself in a situation where it would be considered inappropriate or “unladylike?” If so, describe. What about being yourself would be considered “unladylike?”

Like Elizabeth walking everywhere because she loves nature. Her having mud on her dress upon arriving at the Bingley estate and that being unladylike.

    um…

Describe a person that you think is “proud.” Do you like them? How do you feel about their pride? Why do you think they are proud? Is it excusable? How does it show? Is this person also vain, according to Mary’s definition on pg 21 (end of Ch. 5)?

Wow, that was a lot of questions…

These are actually the questions about the book we were supposed to come up with, but my questions are all prompts, so… Here they are:

    1. Describe a time of akward silence between you and a person you dislike (e.g. Elizabeth’s first dinner at Rosings, pg. 159-160/chapter 29).

    2. In chapter 31, Elizabeth states to Colonel Fitzwilliam that Mr. Darcy will try to give him a false account of her personality. Describe a time when you have tried to make a clean start with someone/at a new place and have been prevented from doing so by a person that you knew previously.

    3. Describe a Lady deBourgh in your life–someone who watches your every move and tells you how to live better/do things their way.

    4. On pgs 174-175/ in chapter 32, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are talking about how far away from home Charlotte lives. Describe a time when you have felt far away from home. How far is far away from home for you? What factors do you feel influence the difference?
